Developing a new Centre of Excellence (COE) to assist our client's growth strategy into a new market.

Situation

Our client is one of the largest retailers with a reputation for innovation and excellence. They were looking to compete in an emerging market, and to develop a new Centre of Excellence (COE) purpose built to capitalise on this opportunity quickly.

People Prism was asked to manage the change for this new business, for both incoming and existing stakeholders. Our work involved detailed impact assessments, strategy development, effective communication, and embedment to ensure value creation at pace.

Challenge

Existing stakeholders needed to be taken on the journey to see this new business as a strategic advantage rather than a threat. Obtaining agreement from key stakeholders regarding these changes was problematic.

Solution

Our change consultants undertook a detailed review of the current and future states. We collaborated with stakeholders and highlighted several key areas for the client to focus on in order to get match ready to capitalise on new opportunities.

Our review incorporated people, environment, objectives, and future state implementations with a focus on the key levers and barriers to ROI.

We were then able to assess gaps in the business and provide detailed recommendations to the executive team, providing them with crucial insights and transparency on solutions and progress.

Outcomes

People Prism delivered a complete launch of this new Centre of Excellence. We developed new ways of working and gained acceptance from stakeholders.

We engaged in a handover to “business as usual” to ensure ongoing management and measurement of ROI could be undertaken internally, setting them up for success in future.
